GASPARD, FANNY’ S CAT
To start this section: “your cats”, Fanny offers the portrait of her cat Gaspard.

Age : 5 years old
Distinguishing feature : Stuntcat
Contracted disease : Coryza
Our cat Gaspard has been living with us since July 2004. Born in April 2004, Gaspard is now 5 years old.
The cat is a pet. So, our cat adapted to the various situations of our life : House moving, work in the house….
First of all, during the first year our cat lived with us in a house. He was glad to be totally free, he could get in and out of the house whenever he wanted.
At the end of 2005, we moved from a house to a flat and despite our fear the cat quickly adapted to the house change.
There was only a hitch for his owners : hair shedding in summer as well as in winter
Sad without his owners and especially his owner, the cat doesn’t like to be alone. In 2007, we moved again in a new flat.
The only problem for Gaspard was the little space available to have a rest in the flat because of the heavy work we started. First we let him alone in our former flat during the work period, but we realized that he felt very sorrowful.
So, we decided to take him to our workings. And we were pleasantly surprised to see him feel better.
Our cat shares all the moments of our life. When we watch T.V he also sits in an armchair next to us. When we are with friends, he hasn’t his favourite armchair and therefore he just stands like a statuette on the settee or on the table of the dining-room.
A distinguishing feature about Gaspard : Stuntcat. And everyone agrees with us !
Indeed, he likes to play and relax on the window cornices of our flat. Of course, these cornices are in mid-air 10 or 12 metres above the ground.
His favourite game : to walk from one cornice to another one being aware of heights.
We could forbid him to do it but we don’t. We just keep an eye on him and even if something terrible happens we’ll be so powerless. Knowing that we live on the 4th floor…..
The cat perfectly recognizes his owners even from a distance and he can hear very well. If the cat is on his cornice and sees us on the car park in front of the building, incessant mewing starts until we step across the threshold.
Our cat Gaspard is the mascot of the house, without him we should be bored several times.
To end, we noticed that our cat is not at all a hunter, not a fly, a mosquito or any other flying bugs. He merely looks at them.
Last week for the first time a bird perched on the window railing and the cat surprised us jumping on the closed window.
